Volker Hartmann PhD

Dr. Volker Hartmann graduated from Julius Maximilians University Wuerzburg in Pharmacy; during his studies he developed analytical methods at Hoechst AG in Frankfurt. After receiving his PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology at Humboldt University in Berlin he became Production Manager at Fresenius Kabi in Friedberg in 1998.

In 2001 Dr. Hartmann joined Boehringer Ingelheim as Production Manager for the inhalation product Respimat®. In 2003 became Project Manager in BI Corporate. In this position he successfully launched Spiriva Respimat® in various markets with special attention on market supply and scale up. Since 2008 Dr. Hartmann is responsible for international sourcing of direct materials in Boehringer Ingelheim Corporate Purchasing.
