Dr. Vladimir Nikolaevich Babenko, the Ph.D. major interest is currently in neurobiology, including alternative splicing in neuron-specific genes. Newly arrived data on enhancer identification makes it relevant to reassess certain GWAS loci in intronic and intergenic regions. Haplotyping methods should be adjusted in coping with population-specific haploblock variation, which is currently not addressed adequately. Proposed herein is the use of PCA to elucidate the consequence of population-specific haploblocks variation and linkage profile specifics in GWAS-rich regions.
