Vivian Choi PhD

Vivian Choi currently serves as the Head of the Liver, Metabolic, Lung, Eye & Ear Disease Unit at Prime Medicine, Inc. since August 2023. Before this role, Vivian Choi was the Head of Global Gene Therapy Research at Takeda from January 2019 to July 2023 and held the position of Head of Gene Therapy Research US at Shire Pharmaceuticals from 2015 to 2019, leading technical teams in gene therapy research. Vivian Choi's earlier experience includes working as an Investigator at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research from 2009 to 2015, focusing on developing viral vectors for ocular indications, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from 2006 to 2009, researching DNA double-strand break repair pathways. Vivian Choi began the academic journey at UNC, earning a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2005 after obtaining a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000.
