Virginie Marchand did her Ph.D. on mRNA splicing in Nancy, and then she moved to EMBL in Heidelberg as a postdoc to work on mRNA localization and translation in flies. Then, she came back to Nancy as an engineer to work on cardiovascular disease and next-generation sequencing, and then as a postdoc to implement new detection methods for RNA modifications using NGS. She finally got a staff position as a research engineer to be the technical head of the NGS core facility at the UMS2008 Ingénierie-Biologie-Santé en Lorraine (IBSLor).
