Viorica Cursaru

Viorica Cursaru is the president of Myeloma Euronet Romania, an organization she founded in 2006 when her late husband Mihai Cursaru was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Ms Cursaru has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and worked as a professor of English prior to her employment by the United Nations, an organization she worked for 20 years prior to her retirement.

she was actively involved in patients’ advocacy, focusing mainly on health system inequalities within Europe. Ms Cursaru made several presentations within the European Parliament where she advocated for the need to establish EU mandatory standards of health which will entail to an improvement of access to treatment and medication within Eastern European Member States and consequently a more harmonized health system within the EU
