Dr. Vinod Kumar Gupta is a professor at Indian Institute of Roorkee, India. Gupta is the South African Research Chair for Nanotechnology for Water and a Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry at the University of Johannesburg. He joined the University as a Distinguished Visiting Professor under the Global Excellence and Stature initiative and was subsequently approved by the NRF as the aforementioned SARChI Chairholder. He was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Regensburg, Germany, Visiting Professor (DAAD) at the Technical University of Chemnitz and Freie University of Berlin, and a KFUPM Chair Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
His research interests are Environmental Engineering, Electro-analytical Chemistry, Chemical sensors, and Waste Management. He received his Ph.D. on the Physical Chemistry University of Roorkee in 1979. Dr.Gupta published books on Nano Chromatography and Environmental Water, Editor of various international Journals, presented various National and International conferences. He was Highly Cited Researcher in Ecology and Environmental Engineering as per Thomson ISI, Life Member Indian National Science Congress Association, Elected Member of Chemistry Sectional Committee for 89th Session of ISCA (2001-2002), Life Member Indian Society for Electro analytical Chemistry (ISEAC), Member International Society of Electrochemistry with H index of 144.
