Vinciya Pandian is an internationally known tracheostomy nurse practitioner. Dr. Pandian received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Christian Medical College at Vellore, India, and her master’s and doctorate in philosophy degrees from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She has served as a director of practice, education, and research for the Johns Hopkins Airway Program that includes the Tracheostomy and the Difficult Airway Response Programs.
Dr. Pandian is passionate about caring for patients with airway issues and teaching care providers the best multidisciplinary approaches to improving patient outcomes. Her research is aimed at improving quality of life of critically ill mechanically ventilated patients, specifically those who are mechanically ventilated via a tracheostomy.
