Vincenzo Villani graduated cum laude from the Universitá degli Studi di Pavia in Pavia, Italy. He completed an internship in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, a residency in general surgery at New York-Presbyterian Queens in Flushing, NY, and a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery and hepatobiliary surgery at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
An assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Villani is certified by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include liver transplantation, pancreas transplantation, kidney transplantation, and surgical management of hepatobiliary tumors. Dr. Villani has significant experience in the field of minimally invasive surgery and is one of the country’s leading surgeons of robotic-assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomies.
