Vikrant Deshmukh MBBS, MD

Dr. Vikrant Deshmukh is a well-known Pulmonologist from Nagpur in Maharashtra. Dr. Vikrant Deshmukh core competency includes performing and interpretation of Pulmonary Lung Function, conducting Sleep Studies and Titration, managing Sleep Disorders CPAP & BIPAP, Respiratory ICU Management, Insertion of CVP, Endotracheal Intubation, Phlebotomy, Bronchoscopy– Therapeutic and Diagnostic including ICU patient’s Bronchoscopy, Management of Intercostal drain Insertion & Pleurodesis, and basic respiratory medicine including TB, ILD, COPD and asthma.

Dr. Deshmukh is an alumnus of Government Medical College, Nagpur from where Dr. Vikrant Deshmukh has completed MBBS which was followed by an MD in Pulmonary Medicine from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. Dr. Vikrant Deshmukh was awarded a prestigious Fellowship by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) for training in ‘Interventional Bronchoscopy’ under Dr. Stefano Gaspirini in Italy in June 2009. Dr. Deshmukh has been trained in various Interventional Bronchoscopy procedures such as Trans Bronchial Needle Biopsy (TBNA), Trans-Bronchial Biopsy (TBB), Ballon Dilation in Bronchial Stenosis, Stenting of airways with rigid and Flexible Bronchoscopy. Bronchoscopy on ventilator patients, Bronchoalveolar Lavage, Fiberoptic Endotracheal Intubation in difficult Intubation, Use of Argon Plasma Coagulation, Electrocautery and LASER, EBUS –Endobronchial Ultrasound, RIGID Bronchoscopy, and Thoracoscopy.

Dr. Deshmukh has to date participated in Annual Chest Congress held in Hawaii in 2012, and ERS Congress Vienna in 20009. Dr. Vikrant Deshmukh, two papers were selected for presentation at ERS Congress in Spain, 2010. As faculty, he was part of an Interventional Bronchoscopy course organized by the Association of Interventional Pnemonology (AIPO) for a presentation on a new bronchoscopy device.
