Vijay Chiruvolu PhD, MBA

Vijay Chiruvolu is Vice President of Process Sciences and Engineering at Kite Pharma, a Gilead Company. In his role, he is responsible for late stage vector and t-cell process development, validation, technology development, technology transfer and MSAT. Before Kite Pharma, Vijay spent 19 years in various positions with in Process Development, Manufacturing, and Quality with increasing responsibilities at Scios, Avigen, Hoffmann-La Roche, Johnson & Johnson and Amgen.
Vijay on the biotech advisory board of PDA and leads PDA’s process validation and cell & gene therapy interest groups. Vijay holds a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA in finance and strategy from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. In addition, he is a certified black belt in six sigma and holds a professional certificate in Strategic Decision and Risk Management from Stanford University.
