Vignesh Packiam MD

Dr. Vignesh Packiam, MD received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a six-year urologic residency at the University of Chicago. He then completed a two-year Society of Urologic Oncology accredited fellowship at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Packiam has expertise in treating genitourinary malignancies including bladder, prostate, kidney, and testicular cancer, and is experienced in both complex open and robotic surgery. He is passionate about educating his patients about all treatment options available to them to allow them to make the best-personalized treatment decisions. He has a strong interest in bladder cancer and supports patient-centered groups such as the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.

Dr. Packiam was awarded a prestigious research grant from the American Cancer Society to advance novel treatments for patients with bladder cancer. He supports multiple clinical trials and is on the Emerging Leaders Council of the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is an active member of numerous cancer societies and is recognized as a top reviewer for multiple urology journals. He has co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
