Dr. Addis cares for patients at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Scheie Eye Institute at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all stages of glaucoma using the latest medical, laser, and surgical therapies available. Dr. Addis's research interests include the diagnosis of early glaucoma, diagnostic techniques for the evaluation and monitoring of patients with glaucoma, and medical and surgical therapies for glaucoma.

Dr. Addis is currently a sub-investigator on the 5-year Primary Open-Angle African American Glaucoma Genetics (POAAGG) study with Dr. Joan O’Brien and the other glaucoma faculty. The goal of this study is to identify the genetic risk factors that make African Americans disproportionately more likely to develop primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
