Victoria Arteaga, MBA, is the Latin America Director of the Syngap Research Fund (SRF). SRF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of SYNGAP1 patients through the research and development of treatments, therapies, and support systems. Victoria’s journey with SRF started shortly after her daughter Amelia was diagnosed with SYNGAP1 in 2018. As SRF Latin America Director and board member from 2020 – 2024, Victoria has advocated for Hispanic families in the US and Latin America to promote knowledge, collaboration, legal representation, and more accurate diagnoses for SYNGAP1 patients in the region.

In addition to her work with SRF, Victoria co-founded the Hispanic Society for Rare Diseases. In this position, she advocates to raise awareness of rare diseases and improve access to resources for this underrepresented community. Originally from Colombia, Victoria earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business, a Major in Political Studies and Geopolitics from EAFIT University in Colombia, and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Ratón FL.
