Victor E. Reuter was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and attended the University of Puerto Rico, obtaining his BS in Biology. Dr. Reuter received his M.D. from the University National Pedro Henriquez Urena, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Dr. Reuter is presently Vice-Chairman of the Department of Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is a practicing surgical pathologist involved in translational research for over three decades.

His interests run the entire spectrum of neoplasms of the urogenital tract. He is the leader of the Genitourinary Pathology Team at Memorial as well as Director of the Genitourinary Pathology Subspecialty Fellowship that has existed uninterrupted at his institution since 1991. He has directed the genitourinary pathology research laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center since 1992, focusing primarily in biomarker characterization and validation.
