Victor Bartsevich MS, PhD

Dr. Victor Bartsevich, Ph.D., joined Precision BioSciences in 2010. Dr. Bartsevich has more than 14 years of academic and industry experience in protein engineering and molecular evolution. He is an expert in combinatorial library approaches for selection and optimization of proteins for industrial and therapeutic applications. Before joining Precision, Dr. Bartsevich was working as a Senior Research Scientist at Amunix Inc. on directed evolution of microproteins (toxins) for ion channel targeting. Prior to that, he was involved in the development of cell-based therapies at SanBio, Inc. As a Scientist at Sangamo BioSciences and a postdoctoral research associate with Dr. R. Juliano at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Bartsevich developed zinc finger protein technology for genomic editing and gene expression regulation. He holds a M.S. degree in Physics from the National Research Nuclear University (former Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), Russia, and a Ph.D. in Genetics from the N. Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow.
