Varun Chowdhry MD, MBA

Dr. Varun Chowdhry is a distinguished radiation oncologist and academic physician specializing in the treatment of complex cancers, including sarcomas, soft tissue tumors, and skin malignancies. He serves as Associate Professor of Oncology and Director of the Sarcoma Service in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York. In addition, he holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo.

Dr. Chowdhry earned his medical degree (MD) from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology there. He further refined his expertise with a fellowship in Radiation Oncology/Proton Radiation Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, one of the nation’s leading oncology training programs. He is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology.

In his clinical role at Roswell Park, Dr. Chowdhry leads multidisciplinary care for patients with sarcoma and other malignancies, collaborating with surgical, medical, and supportive oncology teams to tailor radiation therapy plans that optimize outcomes and quality of life. He is involved in delivering state-of-the-art radiation treatments for a wide spectrum of cancers and participates in community-based oncology services within the Roswell Park Care Network.
