Vanessa Dos Reis Ferreira PhD, MBA, MS

Vanessa Dos Reis Ferreira is a Global Patient Advocacy and Engagement Consultant at the Humanized Solutions. She is specialized in Cell and Development Biology. She completed her Master of Business Administration at the IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School and Doctor of Philosophy at Pompeu Fabra University, and Master of Science at the University of Extremadura. She has been a researcher, a lobbyist representing rare disease patients within patient organizations such as EURORDIS, and several years ago joined the industry with the single goal of accelerating orphan medicines development from different angles. Dr. Ferreira is in a unique position to integrate patient groups’ insights since the conception of programs and projects is done across departments. With this purpose in mind, she facilitates rare disease patient communities to connect supranationally, increases awareness with resources, helps identify and share best practices transferable across countries, and improves capacity-building of different patient groups. Dr. Ferreira has been deputy at the Health Parliament Portugal and participated in developing political solutions around the topic dedicated to the patient at the center of decisions on the future of health in Portugal.
