Vandana Ayyar Gupta joined the department in 2013 as a research physiotherapist and coordinator for the FAIT trial, a randomized controlled trial comparing arthroscopy versus physiotherapy and activity modification for the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement. Before joining the department, she completed a PhD on the topic of obesity and total knee replacement outcomes, jointly funded by Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and NHS Lothian. In addition to her academic research experience, she has previously undertaken teaching, assessment, and module management as a part-time lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
