Dr. Vanda Yazbek Karam Abi Raad is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the Lebanese American University, Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine in 2010. She is working as attending staff at the Anesthesia Department and she is the Director of the Acute Pain Service at LAUMC-RH. She also is the Director of the LAU-Clinical Simulation Center and the Co-Director of the OSCE and simulation programs at LAU-SOM.

Dr. Abi Raad received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Joseph University School of Medicine and completed her residency in anesthesiology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular anesthesia. In addition, she obtained a diploma in a pedagogy of university teaching from the Faculty of Education at St. Joseph University, a Master’s degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois– Chicago, and a certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator from the International Society for Simulation in Healthcare (CHSE).

Dr. Abi Raad has a great interest in regional anesthesia and pain management having obtained a university diploma in regional anesthesia from the faculty of medicine, Marseille-France, and a diploma in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia at the Lebanese University and The University of Rennes-France. She is the author of publications on regional anesthesia, pain medicine, and medical education.
