Valerie Horsley PhD

Valerie Horsley, Ph.D. is the Maxine F. Singer Associate Professor at Yale University in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and Associate Professor of Dermatology. Dr. Horsley received her undergraduate degree from Furman University and her Ph.D. from Emory University. Her postdoctoral work in Elaine Fuchs laboratory at Rockefeller University explored the intrinsic factors in epithelial stem cells that control tissue homeostasis. Dr. Horsley was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure. Dr. Horsley serves as on the Board of Reviewing Editors for ELife and the Editorial Board for the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. Dr. Horsley’s work has received several honors including a Pew Scholar award from the Pew family trust, the Presidential Early Career Award from President Obama and the Maxine F. Singer ’57 Ph.D. Assistant Professor position at Yale.
