Valerie A. Purvin BA, MD

Valerie Purvin, MD graduated with from the University of Wisconsin in 1969 with a B.A. in philosophy. She completed pre-medical curriculum at Columbia University and graduated from Tulane Medical School in 1978. After serving her internship at Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, and her residency at Tulane University, she completed a fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology at the L.S.U. Eye Center. Currently, Dr. Purvin is a Clinical professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology and the Indiana University Medical Center. She is also the director of the Neuro-ophthalmology Section at the Midwest Eye Institute.
