Valeria Thompson RN, BA, MBA

Valeria Thompson is a Registered Nurse who has been working at North York General Hospital in acute care since 1989. She has worked in General Surgery, Orthopaedics, and the Critical care unit. In 2000 she progressed to Administrative Nursing and is presently a Clinical Team Manager in the Surgical Program where she provides leadership to dedicated interdisciplinary healthcare teams in the Orthopaedic unit and the Pre-operative Assessment Clinic. Valeria is passionate about nursing and strongly believes in leading by example. Quality improvement initiatives are a huge focus for her as she provides and sustains evidenced-based patient and family-centered care with compassion, empathy and dedication. In addition, she has provided leadership on many organizational and provincial committees with foci on improving the outcomes of surgical patients. Her strongest desire is to empower, support and coach her staff to provide excellent care to all our patients and families.
