V. J. Laheri MBBS, MS

Dr. Laheri was an Emeritus Professor at King Edward Memorial Hospital, where he had been the Head of Department. He completed his MBBS from the Topiwala National Medical College and MS in Orthopedics from the B. Y. L. Nair Hospital.

A self-educated spine surgeon, he attributes his expertise in spine surgery to meticulous dissection and experimentations on cadaver dissections in the 1980s. He is widely regarded as a pioneering spine surgeon of India and has been a teacher to several young spine practitioners in the country.

He has extensive experience in spine surgery and has been practicing since 25 years. He has great interest in the reconstruction of complex cranioverterbal deformities. The first C1-C2 instrumented fixation in the world has been credited to his name. He has pioneered several surgical techniques in spine surgery.
