Uwe P. Weitzel, PhD is the Head of Scientific Competitive Intelligence at Merck Biopharma R&D where he is going to establish a central, customer focused organization which delivers insights that informs strategic decisions. His previous roles at Merck included the Head Portfolio & Business Strategy ImmunoOncology R&D as well Global Head of R&D Finance & Controlling. Prior to joining Merck KGaA, Uwe worked for more than 10 years in different Management positions in the area of Research & Development mainly in the Life Science but also in the Consultancy and Software Industry. He holds a Master degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Chemistry.
