Umara Saleem MD

Dr. Umara Saleem was born in the Punjab province of Pakistan and raised in her beloved city of New York. She attended Barnard College, affiliate of Columbia University for undergrad where she graduated with distinction in her degree of Psychology and minor of Biology. She also conducted a 1 year research project on the role of stem cell transplants in Insulin-Dependent Diabetes at Columbia’s Medical Campus in the Dept of Genetics & Development. After completing pre-med, she taught Science and English at a grassroots school in Queens, NY and volunteered at a few non-profit organizations dedicated to social services, Women’s services, and Education.
