Dr. Ulrike Blume-Peytavi is Professor and Vice Director of the Department of Dermatology and Allergy, and Director of the Clinical Research Center for Hair and Skin Science (CRC) and the Paediatric Dermatology Unit at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany. Her clinical research interests comprise innovative topical dermal therapy, hair disorders, and pediatric dermatology. She obtained her medical degree in 1987 followed by a clinical research position in Sophia Antipolis and at the University Hospital in Nice, France. She specialized in dermatology, venerology, and allergology and became University-Professor at the Department of Dermatology at the CharitéUniversitätsmedizin Berlin in 2001.

Prof. Blume-Peytavi is the author respectively co-author of more than two hundred ninety scientific original publications, has contributed several book chapters, is editor of the Textbook on Hair Growth and Disorders, and editor of the German “Atlas of Pediatric Dermatology”. She is an active member of several national and international societies; International Honorary Member of the American Dermatological Association, founder member and past president of the European Women’s Dermatologic Society, past president of the European Hair Research Society, past president of the German Association of Pediatric Dermatology and President of the Berlin Association of Dermatologists.
