Ulrich Laufs

Dr. Ulrich Laufs was appointed Professor of Cardiology at Leipzig University in July 2017, as well as Chairman of Cardiology at Leipzig University Hospital. He works as an interventional cardiologist with a special clinical interest in lipid disorders. Ulrich studied philosophy and medicine in Bochum and completed his training at the University of Hamburg, where he did his medical thesis at the Institute of Pharmacology. After his residency at the University of Köln, he worked for 2 years at the Cardiovascular Division of the Brigham and Women´s Hospital in Boston. He has received numerous honors including first place in the Young Investigator Award of the American College of Cardiology.
