Ulrich Heininger MD

Ulrich Heininger has been in charge of the division of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology at the University Children's Hospital in Basel since 1998. He received his general paediatric and specialized paediatric infectious diseases training at the University of Erlangen, Germany, from 1988 to 1994, followed by a research fellowship in molecular microbiology in the field of Bordetella pathogenesis at the University of California Los Angeles in 1995 and 1996. He then lead the paediatric infectious disease unit in Erlangen before he was appointed head of the PID division at the University Children's Hospital in Basel. Ulrich Heininger has conducted several vaccine studies as study coordinator and principal investigator in the recent past.
