Uday Devgan MD, FACS, FRCS

Dr. Uday Devgan, MD, FACS, FRCS, is an internationally recognized ophthalmic surgeon specializing in cataract, refractive lens, and LASIK eye surgery. He is the founder of Devgan Eye Surgery in Los Angeles, California, and serves as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Devgan earned his medical degree with highest distinction from the University of Southern California School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies in microbiology and molecular genetics at UCLA. He trained at the renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute and later became Chief of Ophthalmology at Olive View–UCLA Medical Center, where he has mentored and trained hundreds of ophthalmology residents.

Widely respected for his surgical expertise, Dr. Devgan has been ranked among the top ophthalmologists in the United States and has been recognized as one of the world’s most influential leaders in ophthalmology. He has taught ocular surgery in more than 60 countries and authored hundreds of scientific papers, book chapters, and educational resources for eye surgeons worldwide.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Devgan is the creator of the CataractCoach educational platform, which provides surgical training videos and resources to ophthalmologists globally. His work focuses on advancing surgical techniques, developing innovative ophthalmic technologies, and improving visual outcomes for patients.
