Tyler J. Kenning, M.D., is the only fellowship-trained endoscopic neurosurgeon in the region able to perform minimally invasive cranial procedures. He provides a comprehensive and tailored approach to the treatment of brain tumors and works with a multidisciplinary team of head and neck surgeons, neuro-oncologists and radiation oncologists. As co-director of The Pituitary and Minimally Invasive Cranial Base Surgery Program at Albany Medical Center, he specializes in the treatment of disorders of the skull base, including pituitary tumors, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas and cranial nerve disorders.

Dr. Kenning is also fellowship-trained in stereotactic radiosurgery, a non-invasive treatment of benign and malignant tumors as well as other intercranial disorders that involves the directing of highly focused and extremely precise beams of ionizing radiation without requiring an incision.

After he received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Kenning went on to complete a neurosurgery residency at Albany Medical Center and a fellowship in cranial base surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is one of only a few neurosurgeons in the country with advanced training in minimally invasive endoscopic cranial base surgery through an accredited fellowship.
