Dr. Davis received her Ph.D. from Yale University. She currently directs a research lab studying how a cell ensures transmission of an exact complement of chromosomes each cell division. The lab uses a variety of techniques from single-molecule biophysical approaches to biochemistry, genetics and microscopy to explore the regulation and assembly of the machinery that ensures each daughter cell receives a full set of chromosomes every cell division. Dr. Davis is also the director of the Yeast Resource Center, which is a Biomedical Technology Research Center supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of General Medical Studies. This center develops novel technologies to investigate protein structure and function.
