Trifon Totlis MD, PhD

Trifon Totlis, MD, PhD, is an orthopedic surgeon and Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 2007, he has been teaching musculoskeletal anatomy (bone, ligament, muscle) to first-year medical students. Since 2017, he has also taught in seven postgraduate programs at Aristotle University, including the MSc in Sports and Health and the MSc in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells, in both of which he serves on the Study Program Committee. Since March 2024, he has been a Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University, Turkey.

He practices at TheMIS Orthopedic Center in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, and operates at St. Luke’s Hospital in Panorama, Thessaloniki. In 2021, he established the Regenerative Medicine Orthopaedic Center by TheMIS at St. Luke’s Hospital, where he currently serves as Medical Director, focusing on minimally invasive orthobiologic treatments and related clinical and translational research.

Dr. Totlis has completed clinical fellowships abroad, including at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University (Chicago, IL) with Dr. Brian Cole and St. Anna Orthopaedic Clinic (Herne, Germany). He has received international scholarships from major organizations such as ICRS, ISAKOS, and AANA to participate in global congresses and courses in Chicago, Shanghai, and Rosemont, IL, and to conduct innovative research protocols. He served as co-team physician for PAOK FC (Superleague seasons 2016–2019) and currently acts as a consultant orthopedic surgeon for various sports teams.
