Dr. Triantafillos Giannakopoulos MD, Ph.D., MSc, FEBVS, CCVUS, FACS graduated from the Medical School of the “Aristotelian” University of Thessaloniki and from the Medical Department of the Hellenic Military Corps Officer School in Thessaloniki, Greece. He served on board Hellenic Navy ships and worked in Naval Hospitals until 2007. He acquired the Specialty title of Vascular Surgery (2013) having trained at the Vascular Surgery Department of “Attikon” University Hospital - Athens Medical School.

Since then he is a Consultant in Athens Naval & Veterans Hospital and served as Head of the Medical Department at the Hellenic Naval Academy (2018-2020). In 2014 he successfully obtained the Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS) Diploma. At the same time, he had the privilege to work as a Clinical Fellow in Klinikum Nurnberg Sud where he acquired extensive experience on fenestrated & branched aortic endograft (2014-2015). He has completed three postgraduate MSc courses (2011 - MSc Degree in Endovascular Techniques for Vascular Diseases, University of Athens, Greece, 2015 - Diplome Universitaire Endoprotheses Aortiques, CHRU Lille University Hospital, France, 2016 - MSc Degree in UltraSound Functional Imaging for the Prevention and Treatment of Vascular Diseases, University of Thessaly Medical School, Larissa, Greece).

He has experience in Complex Aortic Aneurysm endograft (EVAR/EVAS, FEVAR, ChEVAR /Chevas) one of his main active fields of interest. He completed his Ph.D. research on Carotid Stenting and he is active in Chronic Renal Failure Access surgery, Peripheral arterial disease management, and Chronic wound healing (Diabetics, PAD, Venous ulcers). Finally, his mastery in Ultrasound Vascular Imaging allows for successful performance in all minimally invasive EndoVenous Ablation techniques (Laser, RF, Steam, MOCA, foam sclerotherapy) for symptomatic patients & for Aesthetic Vascular Surgery applications. He is involved in Research both with publications and peer-reviewing for prestigious journals like EJVES. Since 2019 he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified for Vascular Ultrasound by the ESVS (CCVUS).
