Dr. McKee has been developing novel techniques for the acquisition and analysis of microscopy and medical image data for 20 years since his Ph.D. in Bioengineering at MIT, where he worked in the lab of Rakesh Jain at Harvard Medical School. He is appointed an Adjunct Lecturer in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, as well as being a member of the Temerty Center for AI Research and Education in Medicine at the University of Toronto. He has served in roles as Director of Commercial AI Services (Research Pathology) at Deciphex Inc. He previously served as Director of Image Analysis at HistoWiz Inc, and prior to that as Senior Data Scientist and Manager of Computational Pathology efforts at the STTARR Core facility, to develop new workflows for high throughput semi-automated analysis in order to perform "tissue cytometry", extracting quantitative spatial as well as biomarker information from tissue sections. He has expertise in performing multi-modality correlations of information from medical imaging and preclinical radiology with several tissue-based optical and mass spectrometric techniques. He has published 40+ publications utilizing these analysis pipelines, and works at the forefront of the application of advanced technologies and integration with pathologist workflows, to help extract single-cell proteomic insights and quantitative data from pathological slides and 3D images.
