Tran Huy MSc, PhD

Prof. Tran Quang Huy is a scientist in biophysics at Phenikaa University, Vietnam. He obtained his BSc. in Physics from the Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam National University (VNU) – Hanoi; MSc. in Nanomaterials and Nanodevices from the College of Technology, VNU; and Ph.D. in Materials Science from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam, in 2012. He was appointed as an Associate Professor at Phenikaa University in 2021.

Tran Quang Huy had 19 years (2001-2019) working at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), Hanoi as a researcher of biological ultrastructure; and also responsible for nano-biomedical research. In August 2019, he moved to work at Phenikaa University, taking the role of a vice director of the Phenikaa University Nano Institute (PHENA). He was also a founding member of the Nano Energy & Nano-Biomedical Research Group (NEB Group); part-time lecturer of several universities in Vietnam; vice-editor in Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Preventive Medicine (2016-2019). He was elected as Chair of the Vietnam Young Academy {http://vietnamyoungacademy.org} for the term of 2017. Currently, he is a member of the Global Young Academy (GYA, since 2017), an EC member of the ASEAN Young Scientist Network (ASEAN YSN, since 2018), an EC member of the Vietnam Association of Preventive Medicine (VAPM, since 2017), and member of Vietnam Society of Physics.

Tran Quang Huy has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 4 books, and book chapters. As a group leader of nBIORD Lab and a biophysical background, his research has focused on the ultra-small world of nanotechnology applied for the biomedical field, such as the development of innovative biosensors/biochips, and nanomaterials applied for rapid detection of infectious pathogens, drug delivery, disinfection, and environmental monitoring.
