Torsten Vilkner PhD

Torsten Vilkner was undergraduate studies of Pharmacy at the University of Greifswald, Germany, Torsten moved to London, UK to conduct his postgraduate studies by developing novel, miniaturized solutions to the old problem of pharmaceutical powder mixing. He obtained his PhD from Imperial College London in 2005. Torsten then started his career with Boehringer Ingelheim working in the Corporate Quality Department for 1 year. For the next 9 years he held several positions within the commercial manufacturing organization, especially focusing on production, validation and supply-chain management of inhalation product. In 2016 he got the opportunity to move to California with his family and to gain experience in Boehringer Ingelheims biopharmaceutical production site in Fremont. Currently he is Senior Associate Director Fill & Finish Operations within the manufacturing department.
