Tony Newman-Sanders is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging and clinical informatics. He was appointed Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Chief Clinical Information Officer at SASH in April 2016.
He read Medicine at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and the Royal London Hospital. He trained in General Medicine on the Bart’s Hospital Training scheme and in Renal Medicine and subsequently Clinical Radiology at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.
He was appointed Consultant Radiologist at Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust (now Croydon Health Services) in February 1998. He oversaw the establishment of the first NHS MRI Unit in Croydon, introduced the technique of musculoskeletal Ultrasound and developed and led the musculoskeletal imaging service.
