Dr. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University, where he majored in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics. He received his Doctorate in Medicine with distinction in research from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Mark completed fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology in 2008 at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
He also received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Investigation from the Weill Cornell School of Graduate Sciences and completed the American Society of Hematology Clinical Research Training Institute during his fellowship training.
After fellowship, Dr. Mark stayed on at Cornell and became associate director of the Multiple Myeloma Center and later director of the inpatient myeloma service at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell campus. In 2016, he joined the University of Colorado as clinical director of the plasma cell disorders program, which will cover conditions such as multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis, light chain deposition disease, POEMS syndrome and other rare malignancies related to abnormal plasma cell function.
