Dr. Tomas Konecny graduated from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and underwent training in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases at the Mayo Clinic, where he holds the title of an Assistant Professor of Medicine. His research investigates the pathophysiological processes of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, focusing on the arrhythmogenesis and cardiomyopathies occurring in patients with sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Dr. Konecny received recognition from American College of Chest Physicians (Young Investigator Award – 1st place), American College of Cardiology (Young Investigator Award – 2nd place), American Heart Association (Young Investigator Award Finalist). For Dr. Konecny’s pursuit of technological innovation in the treatment of arrhythmias he was awarded the Best Innovation Award at the Cardiovascular Research Technologies conference.
