Tomas Hajek received his M.D. (1999) and Ph.D. in neuroscience (2003) from Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Currently he is a Professor of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, where he works at the Mood Disorders Clinic. Dr. Hajek`s main research interest lies in investigating effects of various clinical variables, including genetic predisposition, illness burden, comorbid metabolic disorders and exposure to medications on brain structure in patients with bipolar disorders.
