Todd J. Schwedt, MD, is a Professor of Neurology and internationally recognized headache medicine specialist at Mayo Clinic. He serves as Division Chair of Headache Medicine and Chair of Neurology Research in Phoenix, Arizona, where he leads pioneering research focused on migraine, concussion, post-traumatic headache, and neuroimaging biomarkers.

Dr. Schwedt is widely known for advancing the understanding of how brain structure and function contribute to headache disorders through the use of advanced MRI and computational imaging techniques. His work in the Neuroimaging of Headache Disorders Laboratory aims to improve the diagnosis, classification, and treatment of migraine and concussion-related conditions.

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Dr. Schwedt completed his neurology residency at the Cleveland Clinic and fellowship training in headache medicine at Mayo Clinic. He also earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigation from Washington University in St. Louis.

An accomplished clinician-scientist, Dr. Schwedt has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous honors for his contributions to headache medicine and neuroscience research, including the Mayo Clinic Arizona Investigator of the Year. He has also held multiple leadership roles within the American Headache Society and the International Headache Society, helping shape national and international research priorities in migraine and concussion care.
