Dr. Poussaint has served on the staff of the Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) Department of Radiology as a neuroradiologist since 1993. Dr. Poussaint is Principal Investigator (PI) and Director of the Neuroimaging Center (NIC) of the NIH-funded Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC) and is Director of BCH Neuro-Oncologic Imaging. In these important leadership roles, she has focused on refining MR imaging methods for the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors in children. She also serves as the Chair of the BCH Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Director of the Pediatric Neuroradiology Fellowship.

Born in Rochester, New York, Dr. Poussaint received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Mathematics and Biology) from Mount Holyoke College and her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine with honors. After an internship in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, she completed residency training in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in neuroradiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She served on the neuroradiology faculty at MGH and then joined the faculty at BCH as an attending neuroradiologist.
