Dr. Tina Mah is the Executive Director of the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA). She holds a baccalaureate science degree in occupation therapy, a Master of business administration, and a doctorate in health studies and gerontology. During her three-decade career, she has led the development and implementation of strategic, operational, and project planning, with a focus on advancing the integration of evidence into practices and policies. Dr. Mah has held various senior and executive leadership positions accountable for a diverse portfolio in the community-based home care and hospital sector across Canada. Prior to joining the RIA, Dr. Mah led the research and innovation portfolio at Grand River Hospital as Vice President of Research and Innovation. She also served as Senior Director of Strategic Planning, Integration, and Community Engagement at the Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre and Vice President of Client Services at COTA Rehabilitation and Mental Health Services. Dr. Mah is a member of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Joint Expert Panel on Knowledge Transition and Implementation. She is also a Board Member of the RIA (Secretary), Homewood Research Institute (HRI), and GeriMedRisk.
