Dr. Tan is a Consultant Cardiologist at Westmead Hospital and Blacktown Hospital, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and Conjoint Associate Professor at the Blacktown Clinical School, University of Western Sydney and School of Medical Sciences at the University of New South Wales. Dr. Tan graduated from Sydney University and completed a Ph.D. in Cell Signalling at the Children’s Medical Research Institute, University of Sydney. He underwent basic physician and cardiology training in Westmead Hospital and went on to complete subspecialty training in Cardiac Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, where he worked with some of the top imaging experts.
His special interest is in cardiac imaging with a niche interest in using novel techniques in various imaging modalities to gain mechanistic insights into cardiac pathology and to track the progression of cardiac disease. Dr. Tan is also passionate about research and has contributed to a number of publications including refereed journal articles, book chapters and has presented at many national and international conferences. Dr. Tan also has a keen interest in education.
