Tim Yates is a National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow, after qualifying with distinction from Cambridge, Tim trained at Addenbrooke’s and then in London at University College Hospital, with higher clinical and academic training in neurology at Queen Square and the Royal Free. His clinical interests are in headache, neuroinflammation, and health informatics.

Tim spent three years leading on postgraduate training at the British Medical Association. He and his subcommittee, working with HEE, the AoMRC and the GMC, delivered or contributed to national policy on patient safety, recruitment, careers, workforce, training quality and the systems to support them. In partnership with HEE, he led on the development of a new inter-deanery transfer system.

Tim is working at NHS Digital with Professor Martin Severs, professional lead, Caldicott Guardian, and interim director of director of information and analytics. He will be building on his experience to help bring clinical leadership into the digital health sphere.
