Tim Taylor is currently a Senior Lecturer in Environmental and Public Health Economics, has been a Lecturer in the University of Exeter Medical School from 2011 to 2015. Previously he was a Research Officer at the University of Bath and a Consultant with Metroeconomica Limited (both 1998 to 2011). Tim’s research addresses the valuation of environmental and health impacts and the use of valuation in policymaking including cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness. He has used a range of methods from environmental economics, including contingent valuation, choice experiments, and meta-analysis. Tim has acted as a consultant to the European Commission, the World Bank, Defra, and UNEP on issues of environmental sustainability.

Tim has worked on a range of topics – from the valuation of toilets in India to the application of tourist eco-taxes in Croatia. Current work spans the local to the international – from the application of methods of social returns on investment to beach schools in Cornwall to the assessment of climate change adaptation costs in Europe.
