Donal Buggy is Full Professor of Anaesthesia and Consultant at Mater University Hospital, University College Dublin. He is an elected member of Council of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, chairing the CEPD-Education committee and Convenor of Irish Congress of Anaesthesia. He is board member of BJA and the ESA's Research Committee. A researcher in how perioperative interventions might influence postoperative patient outcomes, Donal is Chairman of EU COST Action 15204, a collaborative of researchers investigating the effects of anaesthesia and analgesia on cancer outcomes. He is among the leaders of this area of research over the past 12 years.
