Dr. Thyloth Murali is a senior professor and consultant psychiatrist with 40 years of clinical experience in psychiatry. He completed his DPM and MD in Psychiatry from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. He had received a World Health Organization fellowship under Dr. Robert Paul Liberman at UCLA, California, USA. He has undergone training in social skills training for serious mental disorders under Dr. Robert Paul Liberman at UCLA, California. 

He has been involved in Psychosocial Rehabilitation since 1986. He was instrumental in developing 14 psychiatric rehabilitation facilities in different parts of India. In 2001, he has coordinated around 50 agencies taking care of persons with mental illness who were homeless in the state of Kerala and provided technical support to improve the skills of caregivers. He was a member of the team constituted by the National Human Rights Commission for the Project “Quality Assurance in Mental Health” wherein made visits to Mental Hospitals, Medical College facilities, and NGOs all over India. He had conducted more than 100 public awareness programs in different parts of India. He also provides technical support in developing Rehabilitation Services in Sri Lanka and Ethiopia.
