Dr Thoraya Ammar is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at London's King's College Hospital having qualified from King's College London in 1992. Thoraya specialises in Vascular Intervention and works in a dynamic trauma unit. She also operates at St Thomas's Hospital where she is part of an integrated aortic service. She gained her MRCP prior to commencing radiology training in 2003.

Thoraya has a longstanding interest in venous disease and has worked in the Academic Unit of Vascular Medicine at King's College London as an investigator running clinical trials in this field, in which she is also published. She is a co-author on multiple papers in peer reviewed journals and continuously presents her work in European and International meetings. She is passionate about training and enjoys her role as a supervisor for interventional radiology trainees.

Thoraya lives in London with her husband Mike and two boys whom she enjoys playing tennis with (although they seem to be getting too good for her liking). She is a keen runner and has completed multiple races including the London Marathon. She enjoys travelling and has recently picked up scuba diving again.
