Thom W. Rooke, MD, RVT, serves as President-Elect on the IAC Vein Center Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM). Dr. Rooke obtained a BS in Physiology at the University of Michigan and his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Upon completing residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, N.Y., he joined the Vascular Medicine section at Mayo, where he now serves as the Krehbiel Professor of Vascular Medicine.
Dr. Rooke also founded the Mayo Clinic Wound Care Center. He serves on a number of national boards, committees and societies. In addition to having served as President of IAC Vascular Testing, Dr. Rooke is also the past-president of the SVM, where he has a long history of service. His interests include medical writing — fact and fiction, peripheral vascular medicine, varicose veins, swollen limbs and the art of the medical lecture.
